YOUTH SERVICES The Westfield Booktalker The Youth Services Librarians at the Westfield Memorial Library collaborate on a blog, The Westfield Booktalker, featuring our own reviews of young people's books in our collection. Take a look and please comment! Book Club Kits for Kids We have new Book Club Kits for parent/child discussion groups, including multiple copies of the same book, with questions and activity. Family Astronomy Night Meet first in the library's meeting room on the main floor to learn about our solar system, eclipses, and more. Then, weather permitting, we will exit the building to peer at the dark night sky with telescopes and binoculars. Wednesday, February 22, 6:15-8:45 PM Magic Carpet Listen to some of our librarians' favorite stories. Must be in elementary school. Friday, February 10, 3:45-4:30 PM Lego Club Photos! Check out photos of Westfield kids and their Lego creations on our Flickr page! Homework Help Homework help for elementary school children. Kids in grades K - 5 can drop by the Youth Services department for some free, friendly help from a local teen. Homework is always a little easier with a buddy to talk it over with! Monday-Thursday, 3:30-4:30 PM Storytimes Preschool Storytime Listen to stories and do an activity. For children aged 3 1/2 to 5, but not yet in kindergarten. Children go into the story room by themselves, but parent or caregiver must remain in the children's area.
