Book Club Kits

All the Presidents' Gardens, with Marta McDowell

Anyone who loves and appreciates gardens will love this program!  Join us as garden historian Marta McDowell tells and shows us how the White House grounds have changed from administration to administration. In her presentation, which will include slides of historical drawings and photographs, the author of All the Presidents’ Gardens will share how the presidents, their families, and the White House gardeners have left their mark on the grounds of the executive mansion through their different choices and uses of the gardens. 
Marta McDowell lives, writes and gardens in Chatham, NJ. Marta teaches landscape history and horticulture at the New York Botanical Gardens and is on the Board of the NJ Historical Garden Foundation at the Cross Estate in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Her garden is included in the Smithsonian's Archive of American Gardens.

Does the thought of accounting terminology frighten you? Are you new to concepts of Accounting and Finance? Medicare Presentation by New Jersey's SHIP

This informative program is designed for those dealing with Medicare questions regarding claims, prescription plans, options, and insurance needs. Marvin Bayne, a counselor with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), will address all your questions, and discuss the changes to Medicare for 2017. The information provided is free and objective. Registration is NOT required!

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a statewide program administered by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, division of Aging Services, with financial assistance through a grant from the U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL) Volunteer counselors are trained by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and/or the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Children's Booksale!

The Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library are pleased to announce the dates for their upcoming annual sale of books and related media for children and teens.  Proceeds of the sale benefit the Westfield Memorial Library.  A wide variety of high-quality materials will be offered at rock-bottom prices.  We welcome donations of gently used hardcover and softcover books, audio books, and DVDs—everything from board books for babies to books and other media suitable for teens.  We CANNOT accept videos, magazines, encyclopedias, vinyl records, or damaged or moldy books. 

Donation Days: Tuesday, October 25: 2 PM - 7 PM and Wednesday, October 26:  10 AM - 3 PM

Sale Days: Thursday, October 27:  11 AM – 8 PM,  Friday, October 28 (1/2 Price Day):  10 AM – 4:30 PM  Saturday, October 29 (Bag Day):  10 AM – 1 PM
