Name Description
BBC Languages BBC Languages offers assessments, reading material and language instruction in over thirty languages and instruction in about ten languages.
Digital Dialects Digital Dialects is a gamelike website and app. It provides all the commonly-taught languages, plus Tibetan, Javanese, Afrikaans, Basque, Maori, Croatian, Fijian, Filipino, Karelian, Niuean, Pashto, Pomakish, Saami, Samoan, Sundanese, Tatar, Tongan, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
Duolingo

Duolingo is another gamelike website and app that provides language drills. It features many European, several major non-European languages, including Navaho and Irish among less-often taught languages. Duolingo even offers three conlangs; Esperanto, High Valyrian, and Klingon. 

Duolingo is also a “freemium” service, so it has an ad-supported basic package and an ad-free package which has the same functions, but costs money.

Memrise Memrise a another gamelike website and app that provides language drills and flashcards. It features many European and several major non-European languages. Mongolian, Slovenian, and Polish are among the lesser-taught languages. Memrise’s website features videos and audio clips of native speakers speaking in natural manners. Memrise is a “freemium” service, with a free basic package and a more advanced pay-service package. 
Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone uses a variety of teaching tools. It features an extremely wide selection of languages, including all major European and Asian languages, plus Pashto, Dari, Tagalog, Swahili, Urdu, and Vietnamese. 

 

Rosetta Stone is available through the Westfield Memorial Library database page and is free for WML patrons. You must have a Westfield Library card to use this database.

Amazon Prime

It is possible to have Amazon Prime play many of its concent in other major languages.

To reset the language for Amazon-content or content from other providers like Disney+ and Netflix, press the "UP" botton on the remote control so that audio options appears. They change the language, either audio and or subtitles.
