Rules & Eligibility
You Never Know is a Summer Reading Program for teens
entering 6th – 12th grade. Any teen who has a full-service card from the Westfield Memorial
Library can become part of the club via the Web.
How Does It Work?
All eligible participants must register
online. The You Never Know site can be accessed from any Internet-ready computer, including
those located in the library.
Once registered, all you have to do is
read! Keep track of the number of hours you read on your You Never Know Online
Reading Record by marking the number of hours in the box and listing the title
of the material in the details section. You can read in any increment of
time you wish.
All participants who read for 10 hours will
be awarded a $5 gift card to either Cold Stone Creamery, Starbucks or Subway.
Those participants who read for 20 hours complete the club and may select a new
hardcover book for their personal collection. Participants will be
notified via email when they are eligible to receive a prize.
In addition, participants who complete 20
hours of reading will automatically be entered to win one of six (6) $25
American Express gift card Grand Prizes.
You Never Know takes place between June 18 – August 11, 2007. The final
date for completing the club is August 11. Reading record entries cannot
be made or edited after August 11 at 1 PM.
What May I Read?
You can read anything you like – books, magazines, graphic novels,
newspapers – even those school books you were assigned to read this
summer. For some good suggestions, ask a librarian.
